180 Piñas is a mezcal traditionally produced in the state of Oaxaca, in the Central Valleys of Tlacolula de Matamoros and Santiago Matatlán, the birthplace of mezcal. Produced by
the fifth generation of mezcal producers, maintaining the artisanal style.
During pre-Hispanic times, only priests and kings were allowed to drink spirits. Thus, the idea of cultivating a special agave arose. It came from a region known for its semi-dry, semi-warm climate, perfect for growing the key ingredient in mezcal, the espadín agave.
To obtain a “Maschalli”, or black maguey, a quantity of 180 agave pinas is required to achieve the precise cooking.

To obtain an exceptional beverage, the perfect balance of flavor, smell, and aroma was sought in the "Metl" or "Doba," known as agave, which combines the indigenous past with technological contributions from Europe. Without the leaves, the maguey's short, thick trunk remains, resembling the shell and shaped like a pineapple; known as the "heart" of this plant, abundant in elements that contribute to human satisfaction.
